Climate & Weather

The weather in Costa Rica is a major attraction for many of the country’s visitors. Divided into 2 seasons, the dry season runs from mid-November to April and the green season runs from May through mid-November. Even during the green season, most days start out sunny and dry as the rain does not begin until the afternoon.

Although, Costa Rica is a very small country located in the tropics, the reality of the weather here is far more complicated. There are 12 micro-climates in this country the size of West Virginia- from the tropical rainforests to the volcanic tundra and everything else in between.

The temperatures in the Central Pacific area, where Del Pacifico is located, generally top out in the low 90s year round (about 33 centigrade) with March, April & May being the hottest months. In the Central Valley, where San Jose is located, the temperatures are mild year round.

Sunrise & sunset times are unchanging in Costa Rica- the sunrise occurs between 5:30 & 6 am and the sunset between 5:30 & 6 pm.
