ISA Billabong World Surf Games
Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica
Day 3 Wrap Up Girls, girls, girls...The women's competition is heating up! Yesterday was a big day for the women with Sofia Mulanovich from Peru earning the highest combined score at an impressive 16.4. Following (not very closely behind) was Pauline Ado from France with 13.77. The Americans were in third and fifth place with a 13.0 and 11.65. More from the ladies of the surf world tomorrow.
On the men's side single elimination repercharge heats were surfed yesterday cutting down on the competition. Yesterday weather was surprising mild the swells were keeping all the surfers on their toes. The crowd thinned yesterday; all the Costa Ricans returned to work and the multi-cultural spirit of the games was very much apparent.
We will report back tomorrow with more of the men's and women's open heats that were held today. The longboard competition is on Wednesday, just in time for the full moon. Word on the street is that the best surf will be Wednesday and Thursday.
