Del Pacifico at Esterillos Inaugurates
New Residual Water Treatment Plant and
High-Speed Internet Connection

ESTERILLOS ESTE, COSTA RICA – October 11, 2007 – Barry Strudwick, co-founder of Del Pacifico at Esterillos in Esterillos Este, Costa Rica, a master-planned luxury community, announced today the inauguration of a new residual water treatment plant that will supply certified purified water to the Del Pacifico community. He also announced the availability of a high-speed Internet connection at Esterillos Este. Both services were launched last week.

The water treatment plant, which has received the official approval from the Costa Rican Ministry of Health, will enable Del Pacifico to process all waters – including sewage – and use the residual for irrigation and other applications throughout the new town.

A significant amount of human and financial resources have been invested from the inception of the project to guarantee that Del Pacifico would feature the most advanced infrastructures available. The water treatment plant has been an integral component of Del Pacifico’s original master plan and one of the core elements of the environmental consciousness behind the development of this new community, according to the co-founder.

“At Del Pacifico we want to ensure that luxury living and nature continue to coexist in an harmonious way. The deployment of our treatment plant is tangible proof of our commitment to lead on sustainable practices, while offering a plush model of sustainable development,” said Mr. Strudwick.

He also clarified that unlike in the case of Jaco Beach, where the absence of a well-defined zoning plan has caused an uncontrolled real estate development that is causing alarming ecological damages to the ocean waters, the development of Del Pacifico was meticulously planned with respect to the highest standards of environmental consciousness.

“Del Pacifico is a brand new town that does not rely on an existing network of infrastructures and services. To achieve our vision, we have engaged the best architectural and engineering firms to guarantee the self-sufficiency of this community. Owners and renters of our condominiums and houses will not have to worry about the danger of pollution at Del Pacifico ocean waters,” Strudwick asserted.

High Speed Internet Connection Now Online

In addition too the water treatment plant launch announcement, Mr. Strudwick is pleased to confirm the availability now of high-speed Internet service, which represents a major milestone in the history of Esterillos Este. Until a few of years ago, a single phone line, the only one in a twenty mile radius, served the area. The line was shared by two hundred cattle ranches scattered in the area.

According to Mr. Strudwick, “Up until five years ago, to see dozens of people standing in line under the hot sun waiting their turn to use the only phone booth in the area was a familiar scene at Esterillos Este. We’ve been pioneers in the development of this area and have committed a significant amount our resources to partner with Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad (ICE) to bring full phone service and high-speed Internet connection to the area.”

Mr. Strudwick explains that in addition to a modern phone line network and Internet access, ICE has also brought to the area regular cellular phone connection. This has opened a new chapter in the history of Esterillos Este, as the new service will ensure that buyers and renters of Del Pacifico properties, a large number of which are U.S. residents, can constantly keep in touch with their families, businesses, and the rest of the world.

‘The availability of cellular phone and high-speed Internet connection undoubtedly provides a significant incentive for foreigners to visit or buy a home in Costa Rica. We’re proud that the development of Del Pacifico has played and will continue to play an instrumental role in the modernization of this area, and ultimately, contribute to the economic bottom line of the Costa Rican economy, by attracting more tourism and hard currency to the area,” Strudwick declared.

Del Pacifico is located on the beach along the central pacific coast midway between Jaco Beach, a bustling surf town with restaurants reminiscent of a seaside community of long ago, and the world famous Manuel Antonio National Park, the most popular eco-tourism destination in Central America. Del Pacifico is also just a 15-minute plane ride from San Jose, the capital.
